Vietnam seeks construction consultants for 260-MW Trung Son

Trung Son Hydropower Project Management Board invites expressions of interest from consultants to assist in tendering and construction supervision of the 260-MW Trung Son hydroelectric project on Vietnam’s Ma River. Responses are due November 23, 2009.

Trung Son Hydropower took bids in September for construction of access roads and bridges for the project at Trung Son in Thanh Hoa Province. (HydroWorld 7/20/09) The hydro project is budgeted at US$386 million, of which US$330 million is expected to be financed by the World Bank and US$56 million is to be financed by project sponsor Electricity of Vietnam.

Trung Son is to include an 84.5-meter-tall roller-compacted-concrete dam and a 260-MW powerhouse. Work is to be performed between 2011 and 2015.

Trung Son Hydropower seeks consultants to assist in bid evaluation and contract finalization, review contractors documents and construction drawings, supervise construction and installation of hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment, and provide technology transfer and environmental monitoring.
