Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) seeks bids by September 18 in separate tenders for electro-mechanical equipment and technical services for the 180-MW Dong Nai 3 and 340-MW Dong Nai 4 hydroelectric projects in the Dong Nai River Basin.
Each project involves construction of a roller-compacted-concrete dam about 300 kilometers northwest of Ho Chi Minh City in Dak Nong and Lam Dong provinces. Providing power, flood control, and irrigation, the projects are among 15 in various stages in the Dong Nai basin.

Cavico named tunnel contractor for Dong Nai 4
Vietnam hydro plant and infrastructure builder Cavico Corp. announced July 11 it has been appointed lead contractor for tunnel works construction on the Dong Nai 4 project.
“After nearly five months of open works excavation, portal shotcrete, PC anchoring, and other preparations, we have begun inlet excavation for the tunnel works on the Dong Nai 4 project,” the head of Cavico’s Planning and Marketing Department, Pham Dinh Son, said.
Cavico said EVN is investing an estimated 5,000 billion dong (US$313 million) in the project. The value of Cavico’s contract is about 400 billion dong (US$25 million) the company said.
