Vietnam seeks grid link from 260-MW Trung Son hydro project

Northern Vietnam Power Projects Management Board seeks bids for civil construction and for equipment to complete a 220-kilovolt transmission line to connect the 260-MW Trung Son hydroelectric project to Vietnam’s national power system. Bids in two solicitations are due May 6 and 13.

Trung Son Hydropower Co. Ltd. recruited consultants in November to design and oversee reservoir clearance for Trung Son, which is to feature an 88-meter-tall dam and powerhouse on the Ma River. Earlier, it called for consultants to supervise resettlement, irrigation, and water resources management and to perform water quality and fish habitat studies for Trung Son.

Northern Vietnam Power Projects Management Board, a unit of National Power Transmission Corp., now seeks bids by 9 a.m. May 6 for civil work to build the transmission line in Quan Hoa District of Thanh Hoa Province and in Mai Chau District of Hoa Binh Province.

Additionally, it seeks bids by 9 a.m. May 13 for four lots of equipment for the transmission line, including conductors and earthwires, steel towers, insulators and fittings, and optical cables and accessories.

Bidding documents in English may be obtained from the address below for each solicitation for 6 million dong (US$300) each, plus US$100 for courier delivery.
