Web-based monitoring sought for 11,600 U.S. dams

The Natural Resources Conservation Service seeks bids to supply an Internet-based dam monitoring software system for 11,600 NRCS dams in 47 states and one territory. Bids are due Sept. 28.

The U.S. Agriculture Department agency recently called for bids to repair storm damage to nine dams in Tennessee.

NRCS now seeks a dam monitoring software product to provide and host a real-time, web-based dam monitoring and document management system capable of monitoring the 11,600 NRCS Watershed Project dams. The tool is to store dam safety information for remote access by authorized NRCS personnel and partner agencies.
