Workshop on pumped-storage hydropower offered in advance of HydroVision event

A workshop on pumped-storage hydropower is among the pre-conference events scheduled in advance of the upcoming HydroVision International Conference and Exhibition in North Carolina.

The workshop, “Technical Trends & Development of Pumped Storage & Variable Speed Machines,” will focus on conventional and adjustable speed pumped-storage technologies and the merits of each technology. The event is organized by Toshiba International Corporation.

The pre-conference offerings include workshops, meetings and other events geared toward regulatory issues, environmental issues, research and development and a range of other hydro-related topics. Conference-related activities begin July 26.

HydroVision, the year’s largest gathering of hydropower professionals, is planned for July 27-30, 2010, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, N.C.

HydroVision 2010 will highlight perspectives on the role of hydropower, explore issues affecting hydro resources and help participants develop a vision to meet challenges and ensure the future sustainability of hydropower. The conference will bring together a broad range of worldwide hydro professionals with environmental, technical, social and regulatory perspectives.
