The government of Zambia invites expressions of interest for construction supervision of Mwomboshi Dam in Chisamba District of Zambia’s Central Province. Responses are due February 12.

The government recruited firms last year to consolidate and update the nation’s water resources development planning, to design construction and rehabilitation of at least 100 small dams, and to strengthen Zambia’s hydro-meteorological monitoring network. Zambia Electricity Supply Corp. also took bids last year to review and update environmental and social impact assessments of the 750-MW Kafue Gorge Lower hydroelectric project proposed for Zambia’s Kafue River. In other action, a refurbished and expanded 14.8-MW Lunzua hydro project came on line to supply the increasing population of Zambia’s Northern Province.

Zambia’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock now invites expressions of interest for construction supervision of Mwomboshi Dam under its Irrigation Development and Support Project. Consultants must demonstrate they are qualified to prepare dam safety plans, carry out pre-construction activities, perform construction supervision, train staff and carry out inspections for issuance of final acceptance and payment certificates.

Expressions of interest in hard or electronic copies are due to the address below by 10 a.m. February 12.
